Letter-Writing Campaign
We are organizing a letter-writing + sending Sour Patch Kids campaign in an effort to let Netflix and other platforms and networks know that we want a second season of Teenage Bounty Hunters, no matter where it is.
We are doing multiple waves of letters, so this page will continue to update as the campaign develops and more information becomes available.
Participation Options
The most important thing you can do for this campaign is just participate. There are a lot of different participation levels available to you, so don't be discouraged if you can't buy Sour Patch Kids or write a heartfelt letter. Take a look at the options below and decide what level of participation you can contribute.
1) Write a letter. Whether typed or handwritten, you can write a letter with as much or as little information as you want to include. If you need any ideas for what to say in your letter, we have provided our advice further down the page. For the most part, you can probably use the same letter for all of the networks and platforms, so don't be afraid to copy and paste the same letter for everyone to save time. The main recepients who will need their letters tweaked a little to be different will be the folks at Netflix. Please see our section on letter recepients for more information on what to say to them.
2) Ship your own Sour Patch Kids with a letter included. If you are able to purchase your own Sour Patch Kids locally and ship the candy yourself, be sure to include your letter with it. This will have to be shipped in a package, as the candy will be to bulky to mail in a standard envelope, so keep that in mind! You can also print a #SaveTeenageBountyHunters graphic to include in the package. You can find that graphic here.
3) Send Sour Patch Kids from the Internet. If you do not have access or time to go to the store to buy Sour Patch Kids, you can purchase the candy on Amazon or from other stores and send from there.
4) Send a postcard from online. If you don't have time to write a letter, you can send a postcard from online from websites like mypostcard.com. For the graphic, you can use the #SaveTeenageBountyHunters graphic, here.
5) Participate in the TBH Postal Service program. We have established the TBH Postal Service and the Sour Patch Scholarship to help fans who might not be able to mail their letters and candy themselves, or need a little extra help doing so. International fans facing high postage amounts or worried about your mail getting delivered on time, this includes you! Please check out our separate page on these two programs!
6) Spread the word about the campaign! If you are not able to participate yourself and do not want to participate in the TBH Postal Service, we completely understand. The best thing you can do to help is just spread the word and let people know what we are doing and help us increase participation. We need as many fans involved as possible to make this a successful campaign! #SomethingSourPatch
Who are we reaching out to?
There will be multiple waves to the #SomethingSourPatch letter-writing campaign. Each wave, contacts and mailing addresses for our targets will be shared here.

Second Wave, Oct. 31 - Nov. 21
For the second wave of #SomethingSourPatch, we will be reaching out to Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, HBO Max, and Showtime. After gathering contacts for these targets, we decided it would be best to split the second wave into two separate weeks to make them more manageable. The first week*, we will be reaching out to Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. The second week, we will be reaching out to AppleTV, HBO Max, and Showtime.
*The first week of this wave fell during the U.S. Presidential Elections. Given the stress of the week, we decided to extend the deadline for this round of mailing. Please see the updated dates below.

When are we sending these?
We will be doing multiple waves of letters. While our first wave of letters focused on the folks at Netflix, our second and third waves will focus on platforms and networks that we hope to pick up the show. Currently, we are in our second wave of the campaign. The second wave will be split over two weeks - one week starting Oct. 31 and one week starting Nov. 15. During the first week, we will send our letters to Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. During the second week, we will send our letters to AppleTV, HBO Max, and Showtime.
For the first week of the second wave, we will begin sending out letters and candy beginning October 31st. For folks in the U.S. and using our TBH Postal Service, this should allow delivery during the first week of November. If you’re not able to ship this weekend, that’s A-okay and send it as soon as you can anyway.
Hopefully most of the letters and packages will reach the recipients over the first week of November. If you are not able to send your letter or candy by then, or if you’re shipping or sending your letter from outside the U.S. and are worried about timing, don't be discouraged! Please still send it. Volume and participation mean much more than the timing. At the very least, we will hit them hard at the beginning, but they will continue getting letters and candy as the days and weeks go by - that still sends a clear message.
What should I say in my letter?
What you say in your letter is completely up to you. Your letter can be as simple as "Please pick up Teenage Bounty Hunters. It's my emotional comfort show," and it will have been worth it for you to write a letter. The most important thing is that we are writing letters and reaching out to these platforms. We want as many fans to write in as possible so that the platforms and networks know there is a HUGE push for a second season of Teenage Bounty Hunters. So if you are feeling overwhelmed with what you need to write and say, keep that in mind. Ultimately, the best thing you can do is lick the stamp and send it. Don't stress too much about the content.
That said, if you do want to write a long letter and would like some advice on what to say, we recommend taking an ethos/pathos/logos approach.
First and foremost, tell them what the show means to you. Tell them why it's important to you personally, and why you want to see a second season. Appeal to them on an emotional level. This is a key aspect because we want the studio executives on the other side of this to know that Teenage Bounty Hunters has the ability to deeply connect with people. It's not just another show to us, and it won't be just another show to their audience either.
Second, we want to appeal to them on a logical level. The show had high ratings! It was critically acclaimed! It was one of the most watched shows after it premiered in mid-August. Check out our Fact Sheet for more information on facts and stats you can share in this regard. Also check this Observer article on why renewing Teenage Bounty Hunters is a good business decision, this Forbes article on why it shouldn't have been cancelled, and this Guardian article on how Netflix is cancelling series too early. It's also a good idea to keep in mind this Tweet from Dan Levy of Schitt's Creek about why networks should not cancel shows too early. These are all logical appeals as to why Teenage Bounty Hunters should be given a second season.
Third, appeal to them ethically. Representation matters. Shows with LGBTQ+ representation are often not allowed to grow and flourish. Teenage Bounty Hunters provided a very unique intersection of queerness and faith. Beyond LGBTQ+ representation, it is a women-led, women-made show. It is a show that gives a healthy and realistic depiction of young, female sexuality that is not often portrayed on screen.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We urge you not to write an angry letter to Netflix. We completely understand that you are upset - we are too - but right now we need to suck up. Chances are, nobody will be able to pick up Teenage Bounty Hunters unless Netflix releases and sells the rights to it, which means we need Netflix on our side. So please, to the best of your ability, be kind and courteous, and appeal to them emotionally. Tell them that if they can't pick Teenage Bounty Hunters up for a second season, please let someone else pick it up instead. What matters is that the story continues and you can see these characters on your screen again.
